Guthrie woman arrested for cocaine possession

A woman was arrested Friday night in Guthrie for cocaine and marijuana possession. Guthrie Police Chief Dean Blumel was dispatched to a Springmont Circle residence just before 6 p.m. after a tip was called in that an odor of marijuana coming from that home.  Police made contact with 32-year old Heather Weinreich, who allowed Chief Blumel inside and gave consent to search the home. Woman indicted for alleged abuse of infant

A Christian County Grand Jury indictment for child abuse was returned Friday against a babysitter who allegedly injured an infant. According to the original warrant, 41-year old Amanda Hargis of White Plains was babysitting the victim in August when she reportedly called the parents and told them the infant’s tongue was bruised. Man sought on warrant arrested after pursuit

A man wanted on an outstanding warrant was arrested early Friday morning after a foot pursuit. Hopkinsville Police spotted 29-year old Derrick Powell of Hopkinsville walking on the wrong side of the street at West Second and South O’Neal Avenue about 2 a.m. and he reportedly began reaching into his pockets when he saw officers. Local man arrested for cocaine possession

A traffic stop on Broad Street Thursday night led to the arrest of the driver for cocaine possession. An officer stopped 63-year old Perry Cherry of Hopkinsville for an equipment violation and an arrest citation says there was a plastic baggie containing crack cocaine in plain view in the console.
