New guidance issued as COVID-19 cases continue to decline in Ky.
As COVID-19 appears to be continuing its rapid decline in Kentucky, Governor Andy Beshear’s administration has offered new guidance that coincides with CDC guidance on how to move forward. There were 1,602 new cases reported Saturday, along with 42 deaths—Sunday saw 481 cases and 22 deaths, and then Monday gained 671 new COVID cases and 34 newly reported deaths. Arraignment held for Cadiz man charged with Hopkinsville murder
Arraignment was held Monday afternoon for the man charged with murder in connection with the November 28 shooting death of Aniyah Collins in downtown Hopkinsville. Murray State, UK & UT still ranked in major college hoops polls
Despite two wins last week, Murray State dropped from 19th to 22nd in this week’s Associated Press Top 25 poll. Kentucky slipped to seventh and Tennessee is 13th with Gonzaga ranked first and Arizona ranked second. In the USA Today Coaches Poll-Murray State remained 22nd with Kentucky sixth and Tennessee is 13th. Gonzaga is number one again this week.
Murray State’s Williams, two Austin Peay players receive OVC weekly hoops awards
Murray State’s KJ Williams has been selected as the Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week. Williams had 30 points against Belmont and 23 points against Southeast Missouri on Saturday. Murray State will begin play in the semifinals of the OVC Tournament Friday night at the Ford Center in Evansville. Austin Peay players were also honored by the OVC this week. UK basketball to face Michigan in London in the 2022-23 season
The much anticipated game between Kentucky and Michigan that was scheduled in 2020 at the O2 Arena in London, England will be played next season. The game will take place Sunday, December 4th with the other game being Maine against Marist. The game was to have been played in 2020 but was postponed due to COVID.
Masking now optional on CCPS school buses
Effective immediately, Christian County Public School System students who ride the bus will no long be required to wear a mask. The change in guidance is in accordance with a change in CDC guidance which no longer recommends universal indoor mask wearing in K-12 schools and early education settings in areas with a low or medium COVID-19 Community Level. Warm, calm weather expected before weekend rain
We should have a relatively warm and calm week of weather in western Kentucky before rain returns for the weekend.
