Guthrie PD seeking person of interest in vehicle theft

Guthrie police are asking for the public’s help to identify a person of interest in the theft of a car from Friday morning in the Food Giant parking lot. It happened about 6:15 a.m. and police provided a photo of the person of interest that was captured on nearby video surveillance. Anyone with information on the person or crime should call Todd County Dispatch at 270-265-2501.

HPD investigaing theft of U-Haul trailer

Hopkinsville police are investigating the theft of a U-Haul trailer from a location on North Main Street. The trailer with Indiana tags was stolen sometime between Friday morning at 8 and Saturday morning at 11, according to the report filed with HPD. It’s valued at about $5,000 and no suspects are named on the report.

Local man served with felony assault warrant

An arrest warrant for complicity to felony assault was served by Hopkinsville police Friday night against a local man. It alleges that on March 1, 31-year old James Fourqurean of Hopkinsville worked with another suspect and assaulted a woman with a bat while she was asleep. The victim required 11 staples to her head, according to the warrant. Fourqurean is charged with complicity to first-degree assault.

Murray State opened a weekend Ohio Valley Conference series with a 12-8 win over SIU Edwardsville Friday afternoon. The Racers are now 23-18/8-8 in the OVC heading into a 2 pm game Saturday at Johnny Reagan Field. Austin Peay opened a non-conference series Friday afternoon with a 5-3 loss at Toledo. The Governors are now 16-27 heading into the second game of the series Saturday at noon.
