Man arrested for gas station robbery in Murray

A Murray man was arrested Saturday night for an alleged robbery of a gas station. Murray police say officers were called to the Marathon gas station on Coldwater Road just before 10 p.m. and learned that a man had pulled a knife on the cashier and demanded money from the register. A description of the suspect led to the arrest of 34-year old Justin Smith of Murray for first-degree robbery.

Home on Shawnee Drive struck by gunfire Saturday night

Hopkinsville police are investigating after a home on Shawnee Drive was struck by gunfire late Saturday night. Someone fired shots at a home in the 1500 block of Shawnee and the residence was struck once, according to Sgt. Tony Sierra. The home was occupied, but no one was injured. Four 9 mm shell casings were recovered in the area and no suspects are named on the report.

Man shot in his vehicle in Calloway County

The Calloway County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a man was shot in his vehicle Saturday morning. Deputies were notified of shots fired toward a vehicle on Highway 94 West near Rob Mason Road about 9:30 a.m. and found the victim with a gunshot wound. Logan County woman arrested for alleged stabbing

A Logan County woman was arrested Friday after she allegedly stabbed her husband. Deputies with the Logan County Sheriff’s Office were called to the 2000 block of Concord Lane after 25-year old Racheal Bell reportedly called 911 and said she had stabbed her husband, 42-year old Travis Bell, in the neck. UT running back Jordan arrested Saturday

The Tennessean reports University of Tennessee running back Tim Jordan was arrested early this morning in Lakeland, FL near his hometown of Bartow. Authorities say the arrest took place following a traffic stop. Jordan faces charges which include carrying a concealed firearm, possession of controlled paraphernalia and possession of 20 grams of marijuana. A UT spokesman declined comment on the arrest of the senior.

Hopkins County man dies from COVID-19

A Hopkins County man was one of 13 deaths related to COVID-19 reported by Governor Andy Beshear Saturday. The information came in a news release that says the Hopkins County man was 70-years old. There were 247 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Kentucky from Friday to Saturday, bringing the overall total to 9,704. Christian County gains two COVID-19 cases

Christian County gained two additional cases of COVID-19 from Friday to Saturday. That makes the total number of cases since the pandemic began 119 and 19 of those cases are active, according to the Christian County Health Department. Ninety-seven of Christian County’s patients have recovered and there have been three coronavirus fatalities.
