The Courier Journal has released its preseason Top 25 Girls basketball poll. Louisville Butler is ranked first, followed by Franklin County, Anderson County, Ryle and Bethlehem in the top five. The 2021 high school basketball season begins this coming Monday.
Murray State announced Wednesday its women’s game with Morehead State scheduled for the CFSB Center for Saturday has been canceled due to Covid-19 protocols. The Tennessean reports despite not having the Music City Bowl this year, bowl officials are looking forward to the game’s return in 2021. More than 10-thousand tickets had been sold for the Iowa-Missouri matchup that would have been played Wednesday. Executive director Scott Ramsey says it was disappointing the game didn’t get played under the new partnership with Trans Perfect as the title sponsor.

A Hopkinsville man is facing a felony theft charge after he allegedly stole a tractor from a business in Christian County in May of this year.
