Kentucky defensive back Kelvin Joseph has opted out of Saturday’s season finale against South Carolina. Joseph stated last night he wanted time to prepare for the NFL Draft. He made the decision after speaking with Coach Mark Stoops who said on his radio show that he didn’t want “another player just standing around”. The Xavier Musketeers are still undefeated on the season after a close 99-96 overtime victory over Eastern Kentucky. Former University Heights standout KyKy Tandy had 18 points off the bench as Xavier improves to 4-0. The Musketeers host Tennessee Tech tomorrow night.

20th ranked Kentucky faces seventh ranked Kansas this evening in the second game of the Champions Classic in Indianapolis. Both teams are 1-1 on the season. Tipoff is at 8:30 with pregame at 7 on Lite Rock 98.7 and online at lite987whop.com.

Following a successful showing at the Crossover Classic, Western Kentucky puts its 2-1 mark up against 3-0 Louisville in the Wade Houston Classic in Louisville this evening. It was a banner day for WKU basketball Monday as Charles Bassey was named Conference USA Player of the Week and Dayvion McKnight was named C-USA Freshman of the Week.

Murray State plays its home opener against Evansville this evening. The Racers are 0-1 following a loss last week at Kentucky. Tipoff is at 6 pm in the CFSB Center. The University of Tennessee welcomes East Tennessee State to Knoxville this evening. Tipoff is at 6 pm Central time.

Austin Peay announced a couple of changes to its men’s basketball schedule Monday. Instead of opening the home portion of the season against Transylvania on Saturday, the Governors will now host Carver Bible College Friday night at 6 in the Dunn Center. It was also announced the McKendree College game, scheduled for Tuesday December 15th, has been moved up to Monday December 14th at 7 pm.

Seattle is back alone in first place in the NFC West. Russell Wilson threw a touchdown pass and Chris Carson scored on the ground as the Seahawks held off the Philadelphia Eagles 23-17 last night. It's time for the NBA to gear up for the start of the 2020-21 season. Training camps are opening up around the league today. The preseason will run from December 11th through the 19th, with teams playing at least twice. The season starts on December 22nd.
