Two UK football players receive preseason honors

Senior offensive tackle Darrian Kinnard has been named to the First Team, with junior running back Chris Rodriguez, Jr. named to the Second Team. Kentucky opens the football season September 4th hosting Louisiana Monroe at Kroger Field.

Princeton’s Emma Talley is in the field for the LPGA Tour’s Volunteers of America Classic that begins tomorrow near Dallas. Talley will tee off at 7:20 am at Old America Golf Club. Talley finished tied for 43rd in last year’s event. The PGA Tour is in Detroit for the Rocket Mortgage Classic that tees off tomorrow. Nashville’s Brandt Snedeker and Campbellsville native JB Holmes are in the field.

Todd County treasurer retiring at end of 2021

Todd County Treasurer Tammy Robertson made it official Wednesday morning that she will be retiring at the end of 2021. Robertson announced she’d retire in May of last year, but stuck with the county through the pandemic. Almo woman hurt in Murray collision

The Murray Police Department investigated a two-vehicle collision Tuesday morning that sent an Almo woman to the hospital for injuries. According to a news release, a vehicle driven by 73-year old Mark Kennedy of Almo was pulling onto North 12th Street from Arcadia Circle and pulled into the path of an automobile operated by 21-year old Justin Tucker of Madisonville. Area senior centers reopen Thursday

Senior centers will again welcome crowds and serve lunch in all nine Pennyrile counties Thursday and many will be happy to be able to congregate again.
