Todd County treasurer retiring at end of 2021

Todd County Treasurer Tammy Robertson made it official Wednesday morning that she will be retiring at the end of 2021.

Robertson announced she’d retire in May of last year, but stuck with the county through the pandemic.

She has served as Todd County treasurer for 20 years after 11 years of service as payroll clerk and Ag Center director in Muhlenberg County.

Robertson told fiscal court during a special-called meeting that she’s willing to work with her replacement through the end of the year.

Judge-Executive Todd Mansfield thanked her for her service and said the process will begin soon on deciding how to advertise and then choose the next treasurer.

Todd County Emergency Management Director Daniel Smith announced that longtime Rescue Squad Chief William Randolph isn’t seeking another term in that post and he’s being replaced by Marc Hampton, who introduced himself and said he’s proud to serve.

Magistrates heard a presentation from Todd County Coroner Timothy Wells and anticipate having a vote to purchase a cooler for the coroner’s office at the next called meeting. Wells is currently having to use space in the Logan County cooler when a body is in the county’s custody for a period of time.

Jailer Jeff Penick says there has been repeated issues with the jail’s air conditioning and a contractor was expected back at the facility soon to repair the units that are still malfunctioning.
