One killed, another badly injured in Hopkins County crash

A Madisonville woman was killed in a single-vehicle collision on Ilsley Road Thursday evening. According to the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Department, a vehicle operated by 18-year-old Patience Satterfield of Dawson Springs went off the roadway for an unknown reason and struck a tree in the area of Ilsley Road and St. Charles Road. Pennyrile Electric to implement charge increase due to rate changes

HES customers aren’t the only ones affected by the rate increase set down by the Tennessee Valley Authority, as Pennyrile Electric will also be increasing monthly customer charges.  The TVA Board of Directors voted recently to set a wholesale rate increase in the amount of 5.25 percent, and local power suppliers are impacted by that change.
