Senate likely to hear early voting bill

There could be at least three days of in-person early-voting in Kentucky as soon as the 2022 elections and local legislators support the legislation to that effect that passed the House last week. Gov. announces seventh straight week of declining COVID cases

Kentucky has made it seven consecutive weeks with declining cases of COVID-19. Heavy rain brought major flash flooding to Christian and Todd counties Sunday morning and both school systems are closed Monday. Relay raises $1,880 with pancake breakfast

Christian County Relay for Life hosted a successful pancake breakfast fundraiser Saturday. It was at the Christian County Senior Center on West Seventh Street and it was delayed by a week due to last week’s winter storms—with organizers saying it raised $1,880. The money helps those fighting cancer with needs that may otherwise go unmet and helps with research to hopefully one day find a cure for cancer.

The Hopkinsville Tigers never trailed in their 64 to 60 win over McCracken County on Saturday night in Tiger Gym. The two schools were playing each other for the second time in a 24 hour period. University Heights swept an 8th district series with Christian County as the Blazers downed the Colonels 65-45 Saturday night in Blazer Gym. CCHD reports 27 new COVID cases since Thursday

Twenty-seven new coronavirus cases since Thursday were noted Saturday by the Christian County Health Department. The active case count remains about steady at 133 and 79 of those individuals are between the ages of 22 and 59. Only 19 of the active cases are 60 or older and 35 are zero to 21.

Kentucky reports 1,025 new COVID cases Saturday

Governor Andy Beshear announced 1,025 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 Saturday. The positivity rate remained about steady at 5.56 percent, there were 765 Kentuckians hospitalized with the virus, 209 are in the ICU and 87 on a ventilator.
