Seat belt violation leads to meth arrest

A traffic stop for a seat belt violation Tuesday afternoon led to the arrest of the driver on drug charges. Officer Alex Cortez stopped 34-year old Jack McLendon of Hopkinsville at West First and Fowler Street for not wearing a seat belt and a K9 alerted on his vehicle. A Hopkinsville man with a blood alcohol content that was three-times the legal limit was arrested early Wednesday morning for allegedly driving impaired with a child in the vehicle. Christian County’s boys and girls teams hosted the Colonel Invitational Tuesday at Western Hills Golf Course. Boys: St. Mary won the team title with a 312, University Heights had a 382 total, Christian County 400 and Hopkinsville scored 407. Hoppers lose again at Bluegrass WS

The Hoptown Hoppers fell to the Westchase Express 10-2 Tuesday at the Bluegrass World Series in Louisville. Cody Hartness had a home run in defeat for the Hoppers, who meet the Louisville Stars Friday evening at 6 in their final game of pool play. Dubois County was also in action Tuesday and defeated the Sterling X-Press 5-2.

Preds announce upgrades to Bridgestone Arena

The Tennessean reports Bridgestone Arena will provide Nashville Predator fans with a new game experience this season. The team is spending $12 million to upgrade the audio visual system, adding more LED lighting and overhauling the sound system. Also, at players request, the team is overhauling the wall and glass board system. All the renovations will be completed by the home opener October 9th.
