The Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library summer reading program is kicking off Saturday with a party at their location on Bethel Street. Cumberland Hall School was recently designated as an Alternative Program of Distinction and the Christian County School District is celebrating the honor. According to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, the 31-year-old was taken into custody early Friday morning. He is accused of shooting and killing Dickson County Sheriff's Deputy Sergeant Daniel Baker Wednesday. A Hopkinsville man is facing a first-degree arson charge after he allegedly set the porch of a Moores Drive residence on fire Thursday night.
