Elkton woman injured in accident dies

The Elkton woman involved in an accident Monday afternoon on the US 68 Bypass in Russellville has died. Latham Funeral Home sent out a notice that 84-year old Ethel Mae Poe of Elkton died from her injuries Friday at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Poe was a passenger in a pickup driven by 63-year old John D. Hancock of Russellville. Hancock, who was pronounced dead at the scene, had been driving […]

100 flu related deaths reported in Kentucky

There have been 100 reported deaths from the flu in Kentucky, which is being described as an epidemic. According to a news release from the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services, at least four of those deaths have been pediatric cases. They are describing this strain of influenza as can be extremely dangerous, even deadly, not only for those at greater risk but for generally healthy people as well. […]

Two men indicted for sexual abuse

Sallee                              Jenkins                              Crenshaw Two men were indicted for first degree sexual abuse and other charges by a Christian County Grand Jury Friday in relation to separate incidents One indictment, which was a direct submission to the grand jury, alleges that 58-year old Roy Jenkins of Hopkinsville forcibly made sexual contact against the victim in May of 2017. UL names Brown as assistant football coach

Grady Brown, an up-and-coming mind and one of the nation's top recruiters, was named defensive assistant and recruiting coordinator at the University of Louisville today. Brown, the safeties coach at Alabama State in 2017, made a name for himself in the coaching circles during his tenure at South Carolina (2012-15), teaming with current UofL secondary coach Lorenzo Ward– the defensive coordinator for the Gamecocks during that period.

Mark Jurich no longer employed at Louisville

The Courier Journal reports Mark Jurich, the son of former University of Louisville athletics director Tom Jurich, is no longer employed by the school. The younger Jurich was the senior associate athletic director in charge of development and in charge of the Cardinal Athletic Fund. It’s not known if Mark Jurich resigned or was fired.
