Lady Colonels wrap up top seed

Christian County will be the top seed in the upcoming 8th district basketball tournament following a 60-45 win over Hopkinsville. The game was tied 10-10 at the end of the first quarter, but the Lady Colonels outscored the Lady Tigers 35-18 over the next two periods to take command.

Freshman Trinity McGee led Christian County with 24 points and Laderia Gold added 13. Hopkinsville had three players in double figures with Jayla Rose leading in scoring with 13 and London Foster and Yogi McKnight each added 10.

Christian County improved to 18-4 overall and 5-0 in district games. The Lady Colonels conclude district play Monday night at Fort Campbell. Hopkinsville fell to 15-8 overall and 3-2 in the district. The Lady Tigers close out district play next Thursday night hosting University Heights.
