Predators Blank Kings

The Nashville Predators blanked the Los Angeles Kings 5-0. Ryan Johansen finished with three assists and Pekka Rinne stopped all 19 shots sent his way. Craig Smith, Filip Forsberg, and Viktor Arvidsson each scored their 16th goals of the season. The Preds have won seven of their past nine games and host the New York Rangers tomorrow.

Bill Haas fired a seven under par 64 and has a two shot lead over five golfers including Rickie Fowler heading into today’s second round of the PGA Tour’s Waste Management Open. Louisville are native Justin Thomas is tied for 12th at three under while Nashville’s Brandt Snedeker is tied for 29th at two under par. Campbellsville native JB Holmes is tied for 83rd at one over par.

CCPS last day of school May 21st

The Christian County School Board approved a calendar revision at Thursday’s meeting that pushes the last day of school for students back due to snow days. The wintry mix of precipitation this afternoon is forcing the cancellation of several high school basketball games for this evening. The Christian County-Trigg County boys game along with the Hopkinsville boys game at Henderson County are cancelled. Also, the Madisonville-Henderson County girls game scheduled for this evening has been cancelled.

Steve Tucker resigns from CCSO

A Christian County Sheriff’s deputy under criminal investigation by Kentucky State Police has submitted his resignation. Sheriff Livy Leavell announced in a news release Thursday that Deputy Steve Tucker, who was a detective and the school resource officer at Christian County High School, submitted his resignation after previously being placed on administrative leave without pay.
