North Texas to Meet UAB In NIT Championship

(Las Vegas, NV)  --  The NIT Championship Game is set.  North Texas will square off with UAB in the title game on Thursday at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas.  It will mark the first NIT Championship Game appearance for both teams.  The Mean Green knocked off Wisconsin 56-54 in the semifinals to advance.  The Blazers beat Utah Valley 88-86 in overtime to move on.

Madisonville pursuit leads to three arrests

A vehicle pursuit Tuesday afternoon in Madisonville led to the arrests of three men on drug and gun charges. Madisonville police attempted to stop a Jeep on Island Ford Road for moving violations, but 28-year old Austin Cates of Madisonville allegedly refused to stop and ran multiple red lights. An investigation on South Fowler Avenue Tuesday afternoon led to the arrest of a Hopkinsville man on burglary charges. The arrest citation for 38-year old Paul Christian alleges he went into a home in the 100 block of South Fowler around 3:30 p.m. without permission and took chicken nuggets from a freezer.
