Southern States reopens in new location after Jan. 1 tornado damage

The Hopkinsville Southern States cooperative on 13th Street was heavily damaged by the New Year’s Day tornado, but they’re now reopened in what was the Agri-Chem building at 1106 West 15th Street. There were far more new cases of COVID-19 during the month of January in Todd County than in any other month of the pandemic and another resident has died from the virus. Updated: Man dead after Richard Street shooting, suspect arrested

An arrest has been made in connection with a fatal shooting from Wednesday morning on Richard Street. Hopkinsville police charged 43-year old Daron “Peter” Bell of Hopkinsville with murder. Officers were called to 607 Richard about 12:30 a.m. and 36-year old Gregory Burse of Richard Street was found unresponsive in the kitchen with a gunshot wound to the upper torso.
