There were far more new cases of COVID-19 during the month of January in Todd County than in any other month of the pandemic and another resident has died from the virus.
Public Health Director Jen Harris announced Todd County’s 39th COVID death Tuesday night and reported 249 new cases between Friday and Monday. She says 11 of those patients are in the hospital, 50 are minors and 81 of the 249 are vaccinated.
There were 1,103 new cases during the month of January, far ahead of the previous monthly record of 264 in December of 2020.
There are 15 total Todd County residents currently hospitalized with COVID, also a pandemic record.
