The Hopkinsville Southern States cooperative on 13th Street was heavily damaged by the New Year’s Day tornado, but they’re now reopened in what was the Agri-Chem building at 1106 West 15th Street.
That’s according to Branch Manager Tyler Hancock, who says they “have been very busy salvaging inventory, repairing equipment, and demolishing what was left of the buildings that were damaged beyond repair.”
He continues, “We were also very fortunate to find a facility in Hopkinsville that we can move into and resume operations with minimal renovations.”
Hancock says Southern States was fortunate the tornado struck their buildings on a holiday when no one was at work.
