Trigg reports four new COVID cases, two in Todd

Trigg County had four new confirmed coronavirus cases Thursday, while Todd reported two. Both of Todd County’s cases are otherwise healthy adults isolating at home with moderate or mild to moderate symptoms. Sixteen of Todd County’s active cases are at home and one is hospitalized. Christian County loses baseball opener at Greenwood Thursday

Christian County saw Greenwood score in every inning of a 10-2 loss in Bowling Green Thursday. The Colonels were stymied by Greenwood hurler Matthew Brown who struck out 16 Colonels and came within an out of getting a complete game. Brown also pitched a no hitter. Christian County was its own worst enemy in committing five errors in the game. The Colonels head north to play at Henderson County Friday.

First round action Thursday at the Boys Sweet 16: Highlands routed Muhlenberg County 88-60, McCracken County over Bullitt East 68-56, Boyle County topped Paintsville 70-56 and Ashland Blazer routed Knox County 56-38. Crittenden County scored seven runs in the first two innings and went on to defeat University Heights 12-6. The Blazers were held to three hits and committed seven errors.
