The Christian County Health Department reported 81 new cases of COVID-19 Monday. That amount is since the last report on Friday, and puts the overall total at 5,726—of that, 453 cases are considered active, and 5,199 people have recovered from the illness. Christian County has 74 COVID-19 related deaths.
Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear says the data shows that the state is getting to a better place where it comes to COVID-19, reporting 1,623 new cases Monday. That puts the overall total in the Commonwealth at 364,507, and the positivity rate was down a little once again, now at 8.85 percent. Webster County announced on social media today its boys basketball game with Trigg County on February 6th has been canceled due to Covid protocol involving Trigg County. The Trojans will now travel to Christian County for a JV-Varsity doubleheader beginning at 6 pm. The Atlanta Braves announced today Hall of Famer Chipper Jones will join the coaching staff as a major league hitting consultant in a part time capacity.
