Cardinals get Arenado officially in trade with Rockies

The St. Louis Cardinals are officially acquiring Nolan Arenado from the Colorado Rockies in a six-player deal. St. Louis is also receiving cash considerations, with Colorado getting pitchers Austin Gomber, Jake Sommers, and Tony Locey, and infielders Elehuris Montero and Mateo Gil. Arenado has won a Gold Glove in each of his eight seasons with the Rockies. The 29-year-old has been named a National League All-Star five times.

Trigg County has 36 new COVID cases since Friday, three new Monday in Todd

Trigg County reported 36 new cases of COVID-19 since Friday, while Todd County had three new cases Monday. One of Trigg County’s new cases—a 27-year old man—is in the hospital and the remainder of the cases between the ages of three and 74 are isolated at home. Large building destroyed by fire in Elkton

Fire destroyed a large storage building Monday night in Elkton. Elkton firefighters were called to the former Todd County Salvage location on West Jeff Davis Highway about 5:30 p.m. and found the building on the property fully engulfed in flames. Assistant Fire Chief Daniel Smith says the structure was being used to store hay and equipment and it was a total loss.
