Todd County has 35th case of COVID-19

A 35th case of COVID-19 has been confirmed in Todd County. An adult with underlying health issues tested positive for the virus Monday and is isolated at home with no symptoms, according to the Todd County Health Department. The person is not connected to any prior cases and the health department has notified their contacts to quarantine for 14 days.

CCHD reports 11 new confirmed cases of COVID-19

The Christian County Health Department is reporting 11 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 from over the weekend. Ky. gains 117 COVID-19 cases, Tn. sees large jump in cases

Kentucky gained 117 new cases of COVID-19, according to an update from Governor Andy Beshear’s Office Monday. Those 117 cases brings the state total up to 15,347 and two more Kentuckians have died, putting that total at 560 since the pandemic began. Eighteen-year old Fort Campbell soldier drowns

A Fort Campbell soldier drowned Sunday on Lake Barkley. Stewart County Emergency Management says the 18-year old male swung from the Fort Donelson rope swing into Hickman Creek and struggled to stay afloat. Another soldier dove into the water, but was unsuccessful in an attempt to rescue him. EKU changes date of 2020 football season opener

Eastern Kentucky University announced today they are changing the date of their 2020 season opener. The game-scheduled for Saturday, September 5th- is moving to Thursday, September 3rd to not conflict with the Kentucky Derby. First year coach Walt Wells and the Colonels will host Western Carolina at Roy Kidd Stadium at 6 pm Central time.

NHL announces Covid-19 cases today

With training camps set to open as early as July 10, the NHL said today 26 players have reported testing positive for the coronavirus since voluntary workouts began three weeks ago. The league said more than 250 players who worked out at team facilities were administered over 1,450 tests.

Arizona’s Leake first MLB player to announce he will not play this season

Two people are dead and one is injured following a shooting Monday afternoon at Gilkey’s Mobile Home Park in Oak Grove.
