Ky. gains 117 COVID-19 cases, Tn. sees large jump in cases

Kentucky gained 117 new cases of COVID-19, according to an update from Governor Andy Beshear’s Office Monday.

Those 117 cases brings the state total up to 15,347 and two more Kentuckians have died, putting that total at 560 since the pandemic began. The Governor noted that one new case is from Robertson County, which means all 120 of Kentucky’s counties now has logged at least one positive case of COVID-19.

Governor Beshear says, “This confirms what we’ve been saying for weeks: This disease is everywhere and because of that we need all Kentuckians to practice social distancing and wear masks to keep each other safe. While we might see fewer cases in some areas right now, we know cases can spike quickly if we’re not careful.”

As of Monday, there have been at least 394,773 coronavirus tests performed in Kentucky and at least 3,939 Kentuckians have recovered from the virus.

Reporting cases for both Sunday and Monday, the Tennessee Department of Health shows an increase of 2,125 COVID-19 cases there and eight more deaths, putting the total at 592.  Montgomery County is at 464, Robertson County is reporting 768 and Stewart Count is at 20 cases.
