Preds win second straight game against Flyers

The Nashville Predators won their second consecutive game Tuesday defeating the Philadelphia Flyers 4-2. Juuse Saros made 32 saves with Viktor Arvidsson scoring a pair of goals. Craig Smith and Rocco Grimaldi also lit the lamp for Nashville, who returns to action Friday in the first of a four game road trip at Detroit.

A single-vehicle wreck in Todd County New Year’s Day morning led to a man being arrested for DUI and methamphetamine charges. South Road residence destroyed in New Year’s Day fire

A residence on South Road in Trigg County was destroyed by fire early New Year’s Day. That’s according to Trigg County Emergency Management Director David Bryant, who says the residence located in the 15000 block of South Road was fully engulfed when firefighters arrived on scene around 12:30 a.m. He says no one was injured in the blaze and the owners were living in a different home behind the residence.
