Man facing meth, DUI charges after Todd County wreck

A single-vehicle wreck in Todd County New Year’s Day morning led to a man being arrested for DUI and methamphetamine charges.

It happened about 8:15 a.m. in the 1800 block of Clarksville Road and Todd County Sheriff’s Sgt. Patrick Turner found 34-year old Bryan Batson of Clarksville in the driver’s seat with the vehicle running.

An arrest citation says he had slurred speech, performed poorly on field sobriety tests and appeared to be under the influence of a substance. He allegedly admitted to having taken Nyquil, Dayquil and Benadryl and a search of the vehicle revealed a box of needles, Narcan and other drug paraphernalia.

Batson was arrested and a search of his clothes at the jail allegedly turned up a baggie of methamphetamine in his shoe.

Batson is charged with DUI, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
