On the PGA Tour, Louisville area native Justin Thomas and Campbellsville native JB Holmes are in the field for the Wells Fargo Classic which begins today outside of Charlotte. Thomas won the PGA Championship on this very course last year.

High speed pursuit ends with crash, arrest in Trigg Co.

A high speed pursuit that began overnight in Christian County ended in Trigg with a crash, fire and arrest. Deputies attempted to stop 22-year old Jordan Barbee of Springfield, Tennessee for careless driving near the 83 mile-marker of I-24 west, but he accelerated and reached speeds of up to 125 mph, according to Christian County Sheriff’s Sgt. WKU suspends QB Duncan for season opener at Wisconsin

The Bowling Green Daily News reports Western Kentucky coach Mike Sanford has suspended quarterback Steven Duncan for the season opening game at Wisconsin August 31st. The suspension is in regards to Duncan’s recent arrest on DUI charges. Drew Eckles will receive first team reps this summer and during fall camp. It was also reported that Hilltopper offensive lineman Dennis Edwards is leaving the program as a graduate transfer.

Titans sign safety Lewis and release safety Johnson

The Tennessee Titans have agreed to terms with safety Kendrick Lewis while waiving safety Denzel Johnson. The 29-year-old Lewis did not appear on an NFL roster last season but has made 81 career starts. He played six games with the Baltimore Ravens in 2016 before getting placed on injured reserve.

Tractor stolen, recovered

The Christian County Sheriff’s Department is investigating after a tractor was stolen on Quisenberry Lane and then recovered. The John Deere 5105 belonging to Bradley Minton was stolen Saturday at a farm on Quisenberry.
