Report: Man threw TV at girlfriend

A Hopkinsville man was arrested Monday night for allegedly throwing a television at his girlfriend. The 28-year old female victim told Hopkinsville Police that 25-year old Jeremy Duke Abbitt of Hokpinsville threw a large TV at her during a disturbance at a North Kentucky Avenue home. Burglary investigated at Hopkinsville church

Several items were stolen out of a Hopkinsville church during a burglary over the weekend. Unknown suspects went into Grace Episcopal Church between Friday afternoon and Monday morning and took several handmade scented candles and a red and gray key chuck drill. The incident is being investigated by the Hopkinsville Police Department.

A motorcycle accident Monday afternoon on Pennyrile Forest State Park Road injured a Fort Campbell man. It happened about 1:20 p.m., with the report from Christian County Sheriff’s Deputy Will Meyers saying 19-year old Malaki Smart of Fort Campbell was approaching the park westbound when he left the road for an unknown reason and was thrown from the bike. Fire destroys Brushy Fork Creek Gallery

Fire destroyed the Brushy Fork Creek Gallery on Pleasant Green Hill Road early Tuesday morning. The gallery, studio and spa were destroyed, according to the owners of the facility northwest of Hopkinsville, who posted on social media that they are closed until further notice. Firefighters from Crofton, West Side, Cerulean and Northwest fought the blaze. No one was injured and the cause of the fire wasn’t immediately known.

Post positions for the 144th Kentucky Derby will be announced today at Churchill Downs. The race takes place Saturday afternoon. Meanwhile, post positions for the 144th Kentucky Oaks were unveiled Monday at Churchill Downs. Monomoy Girl is the morning line favorite at 2-1 and will break from the number 14 post. In all, 14 fillies will compete in the race just after 5 pm Hopkinsville time Friday.
