Risk continues for severe weather this evening, overnight, Tuesday afternoon

There is a slight risk for severe weather tonight and early Tuesday morning for the Pennyrile region of Western Kentucky and Middle Tennessee. Hopkins County reports six more COVID deaths

The Hopkins County Health Department has reported six additional deaths attributed to COVID-19. Hopkins County’s pandemic death toll now stands at 145 and the health department also noted 56 new cases over the last seven days. There have been 4,303 total cases since the pandemic began in Hopkins County and at least 4,059 have recovered.

Home Games: Logan County (Toyota of Hopkinsville-Jerry Claiborne Bowl) August 27th, Madisonville-September 10th, Hopkinsville-September 17th, South Warren-October 15th. Away Games: Caldwell County-August 20th, Henderson County-September 3rd, Murray-September 24th, Greenwood-October 1st, Bowling Green-October 22nd, McCracken County- October 29th.

The KHSAA Board of Control holds its final meeting of the 2020-21 school year on Wednesday. According to an advance agenda, the board is expected to discuss the football playoffs, the use of a shot clock in basketball and bracketing for all state tournaments. Titans not renewing option on linebacker Evans

The Tennessee Titans are not picking up the fifth year option on linebacker Rashaan Evans. ESPN reports Evans agent Drew Rosenhaus says the option is not being picked up "due to ongoing salary-cap uncertainty and instead hope to sign Rashaan to a contract extension before his current deal expires in 2022." The Titans selected Evans with the 22nd overall pick in the 2018 draft.

Minor League Baseball begins Tuesday

The 2021 season begins tomorrow evening in all levels. Class A action has the Bowling Green Hot Rods opening the season at the Greenville Drive. In Double A, Easton McGee and the Montgomery Biscuits begin the season at the Chattanooga Lookouts. Triple A action has the Nashville Sounds opening at the Toledo Mud Hens and the Louisville Bats welcome the Columbus Clippers.

East Ninth St. murder suspect extradiated from Alabama

One of the two men accused in the April 10 shooting death of Delmour Moncrief at the East Ninth Street Valero gas station has been extradited back to Christian County. As previously reported, 21-year old Dalton Hall was arrested in Alabama and he’s facing charges of murder, tampering with evidence and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. Tickets are now on sale for the Barbasol Championship, the PGA Tour event to be held at Keene Trace in Nicholasville July 15-18. Tickets can be purchased online at www.barbasolchampionship.com/tickets. The event-which debuted in 2019-was not played last year due to the pandemic.
