Fire damages East 16th Street home

Fire damaged a home early Tuesday morning on East 16th Street. Hopkinsville firefighters were called to 206 East 16th a few minutes after midnight and found flames coming from the second story, according to Public Information Officer Payton Rogers, who says all occupants evacuated safely and two people are displaced. The cause of the blaze has not been determined and no one was injured.

CCHD reports 20 COVID-19 cases

The Christian County Health Department reported 20 new cases of COVID-19 Monday. That is since the last update on Friday, and brings the overall total up to 6,981—of that, 142 are considered active and 6,738 people have recovered from the virus. Christian County has had 101 COVID-19 related deaths.

There were nine new cases of COVID-19 Monday in Todd County. They are six adults and three minors, with two of the adults hospitalized with severe symptoms. The Todd County Health Department has Moderna and Johnson and Johnson vaccine available by calling 270-265-2362

Travis Mayes trial postponed when victim doesn’t appear

The first scheduled trial in Christian Circuit Court since the pandemic began did not happen Monday morning when the alleged victim in the case failed to appear.
