Two arrested on felony charges following early morning fight

Two Tennessee residents were arrested on serious charges following a fight early Wednesday morning at Colonette Drive and Big Blue Court. Hopkinsville police charged 20-year old Lanautica Smith of Clarksville with two counts of first-degree assault and 25-year old Brian Macklin of Union City, Tennessee with four counts of first-degree wanton endangerment. City council postpones vote on pedestrian and traffic safety ordinance

An ordinance dealing with pedestrian and traffic safety was deferred Tuesday night by Hopkinsville City Council until the next meeting, in an effort to possibly expand the reach of the ordinance. UPDATED: Suspect killed in officer involved shooting in Elkton

  Kentucky State Police have released additional details on an officer-involved shooting from Tuesday in Elkton. A news release identifies 75-year old Roy Tucker of Allegre as the suspect who was pulled over in a traffic stop on East Main Street. Tucker reportedly brandished a firearm and exchanged gunfire with Elkton police Chief Robert Toombs and Todd County Sheriff’s Deputy David Hutcheson.
