Atmos Energy will soon begin work on replacing 8000 feet of pipe in Hopkinsville, as part of a Pipeline Replacement Program for its service territory. Mounts sentenced to life in prison for 2014 murder

Jamal Mounts, the man recently found guilty of murder in the 2014 death of his mother and attempted murder in the assault of another woman, was sentenced to life in prison in Christian Circuit Court Wednesday. UK’s Bowden says he’ll play QB if needed vs. Arkansas next week

The Lexington Herald Leader reports Kentucky wide receiver Lynn Bowden as saying if he needs to play quarterback, he will. Bowden-a wide receiver by trade-has sat in quarterback meetings and has been working with the first team offense during workouts this week. Sawyer Smith-who has injuries to both his wrist and shoulder-has been working in an advisory role. The Wildcats are off this week before hosting Arkansas next Saturday.

After one of the hottest and driest summers in history, more seasonal temperatures are expected to arrive in the area this weekend. Sharon Grove man among two arrested on significant drug charges in Tenn.

A traffic stop Tuesday night in Stewart County, Tennessee led to the arrest of two people—including a man from Todd County—on several significant drug charges. Stewart County sheriff’s deputies stopped a vehicle on Highway 149 and a K9 alerted on the automobile, according to a news release. Woman arrested on charges related to fake money

An arrest warrant for charges related to counterfeit money was served Tuesday evening against a Hopkinsville woman. It alleges that on July 25, 18-year old Daizjah Davidson of Hopkinsville gave a counterfeit $20 bill to an employee at Sonic for a food purchase.
