Washington to return to UK while Gabriel and Vanderbilt turn pro

Kentucky forward PJ Washington is withdrawing from the NBA Draft and returning to Lexington for his sophomore season. The former five-star recruit will be the leading returning scorer for the Wildcats after he averaged 10.8 points in his freshman season. HPD investigating fraudulent checks

The Hopkinsville Police Department is investigating after fraudulent checks were cashed at a business on Fort Campbell Boulevard. According to the police report, two bad checks valued at $3,485 in total was cashed at Place 1 Liquor. The suspects names are redacted from the report, which says the suspects obtained money of another by deception with the intent to deprive the victim.

Princeton’s Emma Talley is in the field for the US Women’s Open which is scheduled to begin today at Shoal Creek, outside of Birmingham. This will be the fifth time Talley has played in the event. On the PGA Tour: Three time champion Kenny Perry is in the field for this week’s Memorial Tournament in Dublin, OH. Other Kentuckians in the field are JB Holmes and Justin Thomas.

Russellville man facing multiple charges following foot pursuit

A Russellville man was arrested Wednesday in Logan County for multiple charges, including fleeing or evading police and possession of methamphetamine. According to a report from the Logan County Sheriff’s Department, deputies were on patrol on Cemetery Road in Auburn when they observed 23-year old Derek Reeves of Russellville standing in a driveway. Reeves had two active warrants and when deputies attempted to make contact, Reeves allegedly fled on foot.  […]

Registration open for HCC summer camps

Hopkinsville Community College is hosting multiple summer camps beginning June 11 as part of their Kids In College Can Soar program. According to a news release, nearly 200 students have already registered for the KICCS camps and the college will put on five, week long courses which features 18 class options for students going into first through sixth grades.
