One killed, sheriff’s deputy critically injured Crittenden Co. incident

The Kentucky State Police Critical Incident Response Team is investigating following a shooting in Crittenden County that resulted in the death of one man and a sheriff’s deputy shot. Hoptown drops softball game to Webster County

Webster County kept host Hopkinsville winless on the 2026 high school softball season with a 14-0, five-inning victory over the Lady Tigers Thursday night.  Hoptown, which brought back its program after not having a team in 2025, falls to 0-5 on the season.  The Lady Tigers are scheduled to play at Fort Campbell in a District 8 game Tuesday evening.  Webster County improved to 6-5 on the season.  File Photo
