U of L prepping for Women’s Final Four

Final preparations are taking place in Minneapolis today for the Women’s Final Four. Louisville and South Carolina square off in the first semifinal game tomorrow night at 6 followed by Stanford and U Conn in the nightcap. The winners will play for the national championship Sunday night.

HPD investigating after pellet gun used to break window at business

Hopkinsville police are investigating after a pellet gun was used to damage a business on South Main Street. Someone broke a large window at 4th and Main Auto Sales with a pellet gun just before 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to the criminal mischief report, which says cost to repair the damage will likely be about $2,000 and that no arrests have been made. No one was injured in the incident.

Grizzlies win, Taylor starts in Pacers loss Wednesday night

The Memphis Grizzlies edged the San Antonio Spurs 112-111 last night on the road. Memphis hosts the Phoenix Suns tomorrow night. Bowling Green native Terry Taylor had 18 points and nine rebounds in a start for the Indiana Pacers in their 125-118 loss to the Denver Nuggets last night. The Pacers visit the Boston Celtics tomorrow night.

Fire destroys Todd County home

Fire destroyed an abandoned home just north of Elkton Wednesday afternoon. Todd County sheriff’s deputies discovered the structure on fire at 1355 Greenville Road just north of Elkton about 3:20 p.m. and called for firefighters while verifying no one was inside.
