Severe Weather closings and cancellations 3/30/22

Schools: Christian County Public Schools will be dismissing students early. Elementary students will be dismissed at 12 noon. Our middle school and high school students will be dismissed at 1 PM. Hopkinsville got its first win overall and its first 8th district win downing Fort Campbell 15-5. The Lady Tigers are 1-2 overall and 1-1 in district games while Fort Campbell is 1-3/0-1 in 8th district play. UK’s Tshiebwe wins pair of awards from NABC Tuesday

Murray State’s women’s hoops land transfer

photo credit: Eastern Illinois Athletics Murray State’s women’s basketball program added a transfer Tuesday. Graduate transfer Jordyn Hughes is joining the Racers program after four seasons at soon to be former OVC rival Eastern Illinois. She is coming off of a senior season in which she averaged 7.5 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game. Hughes is the fourth member of the 2022-23 recruiting class for coach Rechelle Turner.

WKU & Austin Peay both lose Tuesday

Western Kentucky fell to fifth ranked Louisville 16-6 on Tuesday. The Hilltoppers are now 9-15 overall while the Cardinals are 20-5. WKU is back in Conference USA action this weekend at Middle Tennessee. Austin Peay was doubled up by Evansville 10-5. The Governors fall to 8-18 and host Southeast Missouri beginning Friday in Clarksville.
