Jury selection complete in Short Bethel St. murder case

Trial got underway Monday in Christian Circuit Court for Shakkory Willis, the man accused in the January, 2019 shooting death of Corvyan Thomas on Short Bethel Street. Opening statements from Commonwealth’s Attorney Rick Boling and public defender Eric Bearden are expected this afternoon. Carrington selected as Todd Central assistant principal

The Todd County School System has announced the hiring of Lynne-Alexzandra Carrington as the new assistant principal at Todd County Central High School. Carrington has served as a sixth grade and seventh grade reading language arts teacher, an at-risk coordinator, and a student support coordinator throughout her 15 years at Kenwood Middle School in Clarksville.  She completed that district’s Aspiring Administrators Academy and has been an educator since September 2003. Locals have celebrated the end of slavery on August 8 for over a century and there will be a celebration this Sunday at the Pennyroyal Area Museum. Three people injured, two dogs killed in Clarksville fire

Three people were injured and two dogs were killed in a house fire Monday morning in Clarksville. Firefighters were called to a home on Singletree Drive about 5:45 a.m. and found flames coming from the roof, according to the Clarksville Fire Department. Talley loses in playoff at LPGA World Invitational

photo credit: Getty Images-LPGA.com Princeton’s Emma Talley fell in a two hole playoff at the LPGA Tour’s World Invitational in Northern Ireland. Talley had an up and down final round before finishing regulation tied with Pajaree Anannarukarn at 16 under par following a three under par 70. Anannarukarn made a birdie on the second playoff hole in getting the victory. Talley earned over $130-thousand for her second place finish.
