Two Elkton residents charged with meth trafficking

Two Elkton residents were arrested in Hopkinsville early Sunday morning on drug trafficking charges. According to the Hopkinsville police report, officers responded to a hotel on Fort Campbell Boulevard for reports of possible drug use.  Upon arrival, officers learned there was an arrest warrant out on an occupant of the room, 28-year old Robert Sargent of Elkton, and investigation resulted in a search warrant. A Herndon man was injured in a single-vehicle accident Saturday evening on Lafayette Road. Christian County adds 17 new COVID-19 cases

There were 17 new coronavirus cases confirmed Saturday in Christian County. That brings the overall total to 575, according to the Christian County Health Department, which says 177 of those are active and 392 have recovered. Kentucky gains 527 new COVID-19 cases Saturday

Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Amy McGrath made a campaign stop Saturday afternoon at Debow Park in Hopkinsville. HHS & CCHS boys finish in top 10 at Daviess County Invitational

The 2020 regular season began yesterday with the Hopkinsville Tiger boys team finishing 6th at the Daviess County Invitational. Evan Pyle led the Tigers with a 79 which was good for a four way tie for 12th. Christian County finished ninth as a team with the Colonels led by Micah Smith and Houston George with 84. Host Daviess County won the event.

The Marquase Lovings era begins this morning when Austin Peay’s football team takes the field for its first organized practice in preparation for the upcoming 2020 season. Many of the faces that helped Austin Peay capture the 2019 Ohio Valley Conference championship will return. Austin Peay practices will be closed to the public to ensure the student-athletes’ and coaching staff’s health.
