Local man injured in single-vehicle accident

A single-vehicle accident Friday afternoon on Pembroke-Oak Grove Road injured the driver. The report from the Christian County Sheriff’s Department says 32-year old Dewayne Johns of Hopkinsville had been northbound near Bradshaw Road when he lost control of his vehicle and went off the road and into the ditch. Austin Peay head coach Marquase Lovings announced over the weekend the hiring of two assistant coaches. Thirty-five-year coaching veteran Mike Markuson will take over as the Governors’ offensive line coach. It will be the second stint in Clarksville for Markuson, who previously was on the Austin Peay sidelines during the 1990 season. Stephen Smith was hired as the team’s running backs coach. Man allegedly wrecked stolen car

A man was arrested Sunday night by Hopkinsville police after he allegedly damaged a stolen vehicle. An arrest citation for 39-year old Muharrar Hopson of Hopkinsville says he got inside a woman’s vehicle on Sunnyvale Lane without her permission and left, hitting his own vehicle while backing out.
