Preds lose to Coyotes in game 1 of Stanley Cup playoffs

The Nashville Predators lost 4-3 to the Arizona Coyotes in the first game of the best-of-five series in Edmonton, the NHL West hub city. Filip Forsberg scored two Nashville goals. Ryan Ellis scored the other goal for the Predators, who fell behind 4-to-1 after two period. The two teams square off again tomorrow.

Grizzlies fall to Spurs Sunday

Ja Morant scored 25 points, but it was not enough as the Memphis Grizzlies lost 108-106 to the San Antonio Spurs in the Orlando NBA bubble. Memphis fell to 32-and-35 and will play the New Orleans Pelicans tonight.

Thomas wins WGC-Fed Ex St. Jude Invitational

Louisville's Justin Thomas fired a final round 65 to win the PGA Tour’s World Golf Championship FedEx St. Jude Invitational in Memphis. It was the 13th career victory for Thomas, who is the new world's top-ranked golfer. Brooks Koepka, Tom Lewis, Phil Mickelson and Daniel Berger tied for second, three strokes back. The next stop is the PGA Championship beginning Thursday in San Francisco. It was originally scheduled for May.

Keslowski wins in New Hampshire

Brad Keselowski drove into victory lane for the 33rd time in his career, holding off the field to win the Foxwoods Resort Casino 301 at New Hampshire. Denny Hamlin and Martin Truex Junior finished second and third. Joey Logano took fourth While Kevin Harvick rounded out the top-five. NASCAR will head to Michigan on Saturday.

An investigation Sunday night on Brown Street led to the arrest of two people on felony charges. Muhlenberg County woman dies from COVID-19

A Muhlenberg County woman was among two new COVID-19 deaths announced Sunday by Governor Andy Beshear as Kentucky also picked up 463 new cases. The two fatalities were a 70-year old woman in Muhlenberg County and 56-year old man from Oldham County.  Kentucky has now lost 742 residents to the virus since the pandemic began.
