Christian County picks up one new COVID-19 case from Monday to Tuesday

Christian County gained only one new case of COVID-19 from Monday to Tuesday. The Christian County Health Department says only 20 of Christian County’s total of 126 cases are active—as 103 patients have recovered and there have been three fatalities. Todd County will have a second school resource officer after the Elkton Police Department received a $125,000 U.S. Department of Justice COPS grant. Governor Andy Beshear announced 155 new cases of COVID-19 from Monday to Tuesday, bringing the overall total to 10,185. Another three Kentuckians died, including a 92-year old man from Muhlenberg County, meaning 442 people have died in the commonwealth since the pandemic began. Woman injured in Madisonville accident

Madisonville police investigated an accident Tuesday morning that injured one of the drivers. It happened just after 10 a.m. and a news release says 44-year old Anthony Bowles of Madisonville was eastbound on East Center Street and that he saw traffic stopped ahead at the Interstate 69 interchange. UK women’s basketball lands another transfer

Reports indicate Olivia Owens announced on social media Monday her intentions to come to Lexington from the University of Maryland. The New York native had placed her name in the NCAA transfer portal in March. Austin Peay’s Taylor withdraws from NBA Draft

Taylor was the Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Year this past season after averaging 21.8 points per game and 11 rebounds. Taylor helped lead the Governors to a 21-12 record this past season.
