WKU adds new coach to football staff

photo credit: North Alabama Athletics Western Kentucky has added a new coach to its football staff. Ryan Alpin is coming to the Hill from Division II’s University of North Alabama. Alpin will serve as co-offensive coordinator and running backs coach. He was UNA’s offensive coordinator for the past two seasons. Aplin also served as a graduate assistant coach at Auburn University.

Elkton man arrested for drug trafficking

A search warrant was recently executed at a home in Elkton, leading to the arrest of a man on drug trafficking charges. The South Central Kentucky Drug Task Force, Elkton police, Guthrie police and the Todd County Sheriff’s Department served the warrant at a 350 South Jefferson Street home occupied by 42-year old Daniel Bell. An arrest was made following a shots fired incident Wednesday afternoon in Elkton. Eleven have applied for CCPS superintendent job

Eleven people have submitted applications to become the next superintendent of the Christian County Public School System. The superintendent screening committee received 11 applications, according to information from the Kentucky Association of School Administrators. There are 10 applicants from Kentucky and one out of state applicant and three have superintendent experience. Tools, equipment stolen out of vehicle

Hopkinsville police are investigating after tools and equipment were stolen out of a vehicle Wednesday on Lacy Lane. A chain hoist, a jobsite heater, batteries and other tools and equipment belonging to Pitbull Cable Construction was stolen from a vehicle parked at a location in the 100 block of Lacy sometime Wednesday morning. No suspects are named on the theft report.
