Notable HCC faculty members retiring after next week’s commencement

Several familiar faces at Hopkinville Community College will be retiring after commencement next week. Christian County budget-making process ongoing

Christian County government is in the middle of its budget-making process and Fiscal Court will hear first reading in late May. Todd County Water District issues BWA for Slaughter Road lifted

Updated: Advisory has been lifted. The Todd County Water District has issued a Boil Water Advisory for all of Slaughter Road and RZ McIntosh Road. It’s due to a main line repair and the advisory will remain in effect until further notice. Drinking water should be allowed to boil for three minutes before use.

Kentucky Utilities raising electric rates May 1

Kentucky Utilities, which serves the Crofton area and portions of Hopkins, Caldwell and Muhlenberg Counties, will soon raise its electric service rates. The Public Service Commission issued a statement Tuesday, saying the base rate portion of the monthly bill for a typical KU residential customer will increase by about $4.27. Clarksville PD to host Teen Citizen’s Police Academy

The Clarksville Police Department has announced its hosting a Teen Citizens’ Police Academy this summer. It will be July 15-19 and it will be free of charge to participants. A shots fired investigation early Tuesday morning led to the arrest of a man for trafficking in synthetic drugs.
