The transition process is beginning for Jason Barnes to become the next Trigg County sheriff. Sheriff Ray Burnam, who lost to Barnes in the Republican primary, says Barnes will be sworn in as a deputy Thursday to begin the transition process with the current sheriff through the month of November. A motorcyclist was killed in an accident Tuesday night in Marshall County. Kentucky State Police investigated and determined 44-year old Christopher McLeod of Benton had been southbound on Old Olive Road about two miles south of US 68 when he ran off the right side of the roadway and struck a fence. Kentucky’s Josh Allen received another national honor Tuesday. Allen was selected as the Lott Impact Player of the Week following his 11 tackle, two quarterback sack performance in last Saturday’s win at Missouri.
