UPDATED: Man severely injured in Cadiz Road accident

A single-vehicle accident Saturday evening on Cadiz Road severely injured the driver. Fifty-year old Kevin Begg of Hopkinsville was headed west near Major Lane when he crossed into the eastbound lane, went off the road and down an embankment, struck two utility poles and flipped at least two times, according to the Hopkinsville Police report. A Clarksville man accused of leaving his 10-year old son in a hot car at the Hopkinsville Walmart Supercenter Friday morning was arrested. Couple arrested for assault, abuse of daughter

A Hopkinsville couple has been arrested for assault and abuse against their young daughter. An arrest warrant for first-degree assault was served Friday night on West Seventh Street against 20-year old Johnathan David Rang of Hopkinsville and a warrant for first-degree criminal abuse was served against 23-year old Kayla Newton of Hopkinsville. Rang was additionally charged with resisting arrest. The citations do not provide details on the alleged incident.

A woman was shot early Saturday morning on Perry Street. Officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 1800 block of Perry and found the victim outside with gunshot wounds to the leg, according to Hopkinsville Police Lt. Seth Meek.
