Princeton’s Talley moves up LPGA Tour money list

After an even par finish and winning over $10,000 at the LPGA’s Mediheal Championship, Princeton’s Emma Talley is in 38th place on the money list at $119,134 through eight events. The LPGA Tour moves to the Lone Star State this week for the Volunteers of Texas LPGA Texas Classic beginning Thursday.

Perry to return to PGA Tour Champions this week

After shoulder surgery in the off season, Franklin’s Kenny Perry is returning to play on the PGA Tour Champions circuit this week. The tour will be in Houston this week for the Insperity Invitational before back to back majors at the Regions Tradition in Birmingham May 17-20 and the Senior PGA Championship May 24-27 in Benton Harbor, MI.

Kentucky Oaks field announced today

Post positions for the 144th Kentucky Oaks were unveiled today at Churchill Downs. Monomoy Girl is the morning line favorite at 2-1 and will break from the number 14 post. In all, 14 fillies will compete in the race just after 5 pm Hopkinsville time Friday. Post positions for the 144th Kentucky Derby will be drawn tomorrow morning at 10 am Hopkinsville time.

Russellville man served with warrants, gains drug charges

The Logan County Sherriff’s Department served a Russellville man Wednesday with active arrest warrants and he is facing additional drug charges. According to a news release, deputies responded to Russell Street to attempt to serve two active warrants out of Logan County on 52-year old James Grady of Russellville. CCSO: Laptop, TV stolen from Elmo Road residence

The Christian County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a burglary on Elmo Road where about $2,000 worth of property was stolen. According to the police report, the victim had been staying at a parent’s residence to take care of the property. He left the residence Thursday and when he returned Friday morning, he reportedly found several items missing, including his laptop and a flat screen television. Hopkinsville Electric receives Safety Award of Excellence

Hopkinsville Electric System has been awarded the American Public Power Association Safety Award of Excellence for outstanding safe operating practices in 2017. The utility earned a first place award in the category for utilities with 60,000-110,000 worker-hours of annual worker exposure, according to a news release.
