To improve local outdoor recreation, the City of Madisonville announced that the trail system at Mahr Park Arboretum is set to be extended by 0.65 miles. City of Madisonville receives grant for waterline project

The City of Madisonville has been awarded a grant from the Delta Regional Authority to support a water infrastructure expansion project. According to the Pennyrile Area Development District, the $1.3 million grant will go toward the installation of a new public waterline that will serve two new developments, a regional training center and a power generation plant.
