As the Fourth of July approaches, the City of Madisonville has announced a musical lineup featuring R&B, country, rock and hip-hop acts for this year’s 4th Fest. To improve local outdoor recreation, the City of Madisonville announced that the trail system at Mahr Park Arboretum is set to be extended by 0.65 miles. The City of Madisonville and the Pennyrile Area Development District recently received the 2025 Aliceann Wohlbruck Impact Award for their work establishing the Western Kentucky Law Enforcement Training Center. The City of Madisonville has been awarded a grant from the Delta Regional Authority to support a water infrastructure expansion project. According to the Pennyrile Area Development District, the $1.3 million grant will go toward the installation of a new public waterline that will serve two new developments, a regional training center and a power generation plant.
