Crofton man facing numerous charges following Hopkinsville pursuit

A pursuit ended near Alumni Drive Monday afternoon with a Crofton man facing numerous charges. According to the Christian County Sheriff’s Department report, deputies were in the area of Clinic Drive when they reported seeing 34-year-old John Bilyeu of Crofton operating a vehicle, while having a suspended license. A two-vehicle crash on Dr. Martin Luther King Way Monday sent a Hopkinsville teen to the hospital. Nashville murder suspect found dead on the banks of Cumberland River in Lyon County

An investigation is underway after the body of a Tennessee man was found along the bank of the Cumberland River in Lyon County on Monday. According to a news release, troopers responded to the area of McKinney Road in Kuttawa, where the caller had located a body along the bank of the river. University Heights Academy jumped nine spots to No. 7 in the latest Prep Baseball Kentucky Power 25 Poll which was released Monday.   The Blazers defeated No. 4-ranked Sayre and No. 11-ranked Frederick Douglass over the weekend.   Meanwhile, Christian County is No. 19 in this week’s poll. Thompson to start for Wright State against Bearcats

Former Heritage Christian Academy and Hopkinsville High School pitcher JJ Thompson will be making his first start of the season today for Wright State against Cincinnati.  Thompson, a sophomore right-hander, has made 10 appearances out of the bullpen for the Raiders this season. Kentucky State Police arrested 62-year-old Harvey Lear of Nortonville for a reported shooting in Muhlenberg County on Saturday that left a Todd County man injured.
