The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a driver fled from the scene of a single-vehicle accident that resulted in injuries on Thursday. 15-year-olds can now get a driver’s permit after governor signs HB 15 into law

Fifteen-year-olds across the Commonwealth now have the chance to get their permits, and work is already underway to get that up and running with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.  Governor Andy Beshear has signed House Bill 15 into law, which takes effect immediately and allows 15-year-olds to earn the driver’s permits, as opposed to the 16-year-old requirement it was before.  So now, the Transportation Cabinet is working to implement the measure […]

Two killed in I-24 crash identified

The Christian County Coroner’s Office has identified the two individuals killed in a multi-vehicle crash Wednesday on I-24. According to Coroner Scott Daniel, the two victims are 24-year-old Sara Michelle Hardy of Hazel, Kentucky and 24-year-old Damon Furlough of Calloway County.  Furlough was ejected from the vehicle, and while Hardy was removed from the vehicle by another citizen, both were pronounced deceased at the scene.
