Hopkins-McClean County line bridge to close for repairs

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet announced that the KY 85 Pond River Bridge at the Hopkins-McClean County line will temporarily close to traffic for repairs.

The bridge, northeast of Madisonville, will close on Tuesday, October 15 and will reopen by October 30 weather depending. While the bridge is closed, contractors will replace the concrete bridge deck and address other repairs.

A signed detour will be posted and the cabinet advises that motorists can use KY 254 or KY 862 to avoid the closure.
